Saturday, the 12th of July 2025 is a date we'll never forget.
Our daughter Willow was 8 months old. Fresh out of the bath, we placed her in the middle of a queen-sized bed while grabbing a nappy. In a split second, she threw herself forward and fell headfirst off the side.
She was okay. We weren't.
That moment changed everything. We started searching for a safer alternative — a floor bed where a fall simply wasn't possible. What we found online was either poorly made, visually uninspiring, or worse, a scam. Tammie actually fell victim to one — a beautifully designed bed advertised on Instagram that turned out to be a widespread fraud targeting parents exactly like us.
So we decided to build it ourselves. Properly.
Nearly 12 months of supplier vetting, rejected prototypes, and late nights later — we had it. The Little Willows Floor Bed. All foam, no wood, no springs, no hard edges. A dual waterproof liner built in as standard, not as an optional extra. A machine-washable Teddy cover. And a 5-year warranty, because we built this to last.
We're Matt and Tammie — a sports science graduate and a mum who believes deeply in the Montessori philosophy of raising children with independence, confidence, and space to grow. Willow is now two, and she climbs in and out of her bed by herself every morning. That independence, that confidence — that's exactly what we built this for.

What age is this floor bed for?
The Little Willows Floor Bed is designed for toddlers and young children who are developmentally ready for an accessible, low-profile sleeping space that supports independence. Adult supervision and a toddler-proofed room are recommended.
What material is the bed made from?
The bed is upholstered in high-quality Teddy fabric with a supportive, child-safe foam structure.
Is the floor bed safe?
Yes. It features a low-to-the-ground design, a soft upholstered foam frame, and gentle side bolsters. Adult supervision and a toddler-proofed room are recommended, and the bed should be used in a safe, hazard-free environment.

Floor beds encourage independence, self-regulation, and confidence while supporting motor skill development and reducing bedtime anxiety.
Is the cover washable?
Yes. The cover is removable and machine washable on a cold, gentle cycle. Air drying is recommended.
What are the bed dimensions?
The bed measures approximately 2.16 m long, 1.15 m wide, 0.90 m tall at the back panel, and 0.22 m at the foot. Minor variations may occur.
How is delivery handled?
Due to its size, the bed is delivered curbside only, and a signature is required upon delivery. Couriers are not permitted to carry items inside the home. Additional fees may apply for missed deliveries or redelivery attempts.
When will my order ship?
Orders are shipped according to the advertised dispatch timeframe. You’ll receive email updates and tracking once your bed is on its way.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. The floor bed includes a 3-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. Normal wear and tear, misuse, accidents, and improper care or cleaning are not covered.
Can I return the bed?
Yes. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery provided the bed is unused, unwashed, and returned in its original packaging. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and original shipping fees are non-refundable. Full details are outlined in our Returns Policy.
